Keeping it Smooth

As I was taking my shower this evening - one of my rituals is exfoliating the heels of my feet. So I thought why not share. There is a product which is very good by Sally Hansen "Prep your Pedi". I exfoliate my heels often while in the shower - I like my skin moist before applying any moisturizer and with the heels of our feet being the toughest, the shower is great for me. I scrub each heel and the side of my large toe that can become tough from wearing sandals all summer or maybe with age. After I towel off, but still somewhat moist, I personally use Neutrogena body oil the light seasame formula. I have used this for so many years I won't tell you :)  I rub the oil into my legs after shaving, my heels and around my toes. Basically the seasame oil goes everywhere but especially around my feet and heels. And, I use a lot. The oil soaks in beautifully and I receive compliments due to the fresh smell. Another asset it dries quick and NOT oily.

Another topic due to my 23 year old daughter is keratosis pilaris - a common condition that stems from blocked hair follicles normally on the backs of your arms. I told my daughter to exfoliate lightly - WRONG!! This will onlyexacerbates the symtoms. Try using a lotion wth alpha- or beta hydroxy acids to dissolve the bumps.

Lastly, if you don't want to purchase Prep your Pedi which is $8 - I buy finger nail files by the package. I keep a few on my night stand, bathroom, my makeup bag and even the kitchen. During TV I will use a nail file on my heels, big toe to exfoliate and sometimes the elbows - inexpensive!! Use whatever moisturizer you have close by and keep those heels soft and beautiful all year long.

I have a lot tips for tomorrow - I've decided beauty tips/products will be my weekend theme.

Anna Karenina

Keira Knightley's new movie - Anna Karenina - looks like a winner. Not only the script itself but the costumes are breathtaking. My love for costumes came about due to my years of dancing and my mother making my dance costumes. The haute courture costumes in this period movie are some of the best I've ever seen. And, I don't want to forget the hats with feathers, flowers and netting - magnificent! My favorite is the peacock-feather hat. I'll attempt to take a picture and add to this post.

02 FOOTWEAR Platform Pumps WOMEN On YOOX.COM by YOOX

Beautiful gray suede shoe for fall or anytime. Love love gray. Have you noticed how popular gray has become? It has become a neutral in paints for the home to clothing and everything beautiful. I have a pair of high-waisted, flying-in-the-breeze slacks with cuffs in gray silk. I think they are at least 6 years old - and - I have shoes to match in gray. I'll take a picture and post my Katherine Hepburn pants with my gray shoes.

I would love to hear from  those that use moisturizers and products for scalp during the cold, winter months. Quite a few women complain about dry scalp and dry skin. I will share, something I rarely do, but I wrote a letter to Neutrogena because I used their T-Gel shampoo for my scalp which was literally peeling off. This product took the awful look of dry, peeling skin away including the itching. I wrote a letter and the company was kind enough to send me products to try. If dry scalp is problem I would highly recommend T-Gel.

See ya tomorrow!
Tomorrow I'm plan to show some really cool products below $20. I want products that work without having to spend $$$ - Some will be hair products as well. Love this up do - Stay tuned!
I know we are going into Fall and Winter, but I couldn't help showing this cute jacket. Band in back with a matching button. Price $59 down from $200 -  Via Spega Double Breasted Pintuck. Water repellent, 57% cotton and 45% polyester.
